“ We decided to try the "new" Good News so we went on Valentine's Day. We were greeted warmly, shown our table very promptly and offered drinks. The restaurant was busy but it never seemed rushed or flustered. Our waitperson was helpful, fun and nicely attentive. The food was just what we ordered and nicely prepared and served at an enjoyable pace even though it was a special day with lots of folks. The Good News is completely renovated and while it "feels" new, it is inviting and comfortable. I highly recommend you try this place. Let go of any holdover thoughts you might have for the " old Good News" and try this place for its food its ambiance and its staff! We'll definitely be back! ”

“ We've eaten at the 'new' Good News 3 times and are hoping to go back this week. Loved the French Soup. Just ask for very hot cuz sometimes it doesn't come hot enough. Calamari very good - ask for well done and extra aioli sauce. Hubby says the burger was very good, Son had Steak & Frites and enjoyed. Have had Short Ribs - yum ! Tuna Pad Thai only Staff wonderful ! Love the new decorations but wish the booths in the bar area weren't so high The step-down can be difficult. ”

“ Ever since Carol Peck left, we have heard many negative reviews. Well, we disagree. Have been there twice this past year. Thursday, we went. Ate at bar. John continues to be just a wonderful bartender- very well aware of everything happening and always making sure our needs were addressed. Food and service were wonderful. We will continue to go back again and again ”

“ My husband and I visited Good News for dinner after their recent ownership change and remodel, and we have to say we were impressed! Though I had never visited before, I had seen pictures of what it previously looked like inside, and you can tell they did extensive renovations, but it's absolutely beautiful! The food was all delicious, and the short rib and scallops were cooked perfectly. Our server was kind and attentive. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! ”

“ The food is delicious. Wok seared shrimp , butternut squash soup and a seared tuna sandwich with fries. So good! I hate when restaurants have to take the time to measure a pour for a cocktail. It looks so cheap. It also inhibits the bartender I suspect from his or her style. It's also cheesy you have to ask for bread when you are paying high prices. We could always decline. I'd give you six stars but with the issue above it's only 4 stars. ”

“ As a regular at the former Carole Peck's restaurant I was not sure what to expect with it changing hands. Waiting ever so patiently for it to make its opening debut, I strolled down on the first night of their soft opening. Walking in, I sensed the cool vibe was still there. Amen. The decor was nicely done and classy. Amen. Now the menu. I cannot tell you how pleased I was to see some of Carole's "greatest hits" still available. Would they be the same? Could they even be duplicated? Yes and yes! I was also happy to see some nice new items added to the menu. The perfect venture of new and old. We started with Jack's pecan crusted oysters. They NAILED it! Didn't miss a beat. I then had my favorite go to entree, "30 years Wok Shrimp" -again nailed it! I'm in my happy place again. Since then, I've been back 4-5 times I've had the filet mignon, crab cakes, short ribs, Caesar salad and the burger. All of which did not disappoint. I'd also like to add that it's really REALLY nice to see many of Carole's former employees that came back. They know what a special place this was and want to help keep it that way. Good News INDEED! The new owner, Michael, was a delight to meet. He seems very nice, with a calming demeanor and is aware of what big shoes he has to fill. He has certainly exceeded my expectations and I wish him continued success! Bravo! What's disappointing are the negative reviews posted based on ONE visit AND during the first few weeks of opening. It seems unreasonable and unfair. I will continue to support and look forward to trying everything on that menu! Great job! ”

“ Still going strong after all these years. They have so many interesting dishes from which to choose. Right now - Spring 2023, they are offering a donation menu to support Ukrainians and have raised quite a bit doing so. I ordered borscht and pierogies and apple crumb cake from that menu. Then you have your standard menu plus the specials menu. I forgot how wonderfully varied the dishes are. The sign is very deceiving and non-descript. My friends who live locally never stopped because they never realized what sort of restaurant it really is. Keep going strong. We appreciate you! ”
